Jemma works on Fridays & is currently accepting new clients
Jemma is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), trained in educational and developmental psychology. Before becoming a psychologist, she spent more than 10 years working in early childhood education, where she saw firsthand the difference that early support can make for children experiencing emotional regulation difficulties, trauma, and social or developmental challenges. These experiences shaped her commitment to helping children, adolescents, and families feel understood, supported, and empowered.
Her professional experience includes conducting psychoeducational assessments (for specific learning disorders such as dyslexia), as well as ADHD and autism assessments. She also provides counselling and therapeutic support across the lifespan. Jemma draws on a variety of evidence-based approaches, including play therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and parent-child relationship models. She adapts her work to meet the unique needs of each individual and family.
She has a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent individuals (including autism and ADHD), as well as people experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, learning difficulties, social/emotional or relationship challenges. Jemma is especially passionate about working with adolescents and adults with ADHD (particularly women), helping them to strengthen organisation, executive functioning, and resilience in managing life’s demands. At the core of her practice is a collaborative, strengths-focused approach, along with the belief that every client is the expert in their own life.
Outside of work, Jemma loves being outdoors, walking or exploring nature, and keeping active through exercise. She also enjoys getting crafty and creative, and is a lifelong learner who often deep-dives into health and science topics through research, books, and podcasts. She treasures time spent reading, listening to music, watching films, or connecting with loved ones over a new coffee spot.
