Evette Harris (She/her)
Evette works on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
Evette is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She holds a Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology from Monash University and has completed her endorsement in Educational and Developmental Psychology.
Evette is passionate about creating a positive, affirming space where all individuals feel welcomed, respected, and supported. She understands that seeking psychological support can be daunting and works to ensure her clients feel comfortable, safe, and cared for both during and beyond their sessions.
Working collaboratively with her clients, Evette takes time to develop a thorough understanding of their concerns. She draws on a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches and prioritises building strong, trusting relationships. Using a client-centred, strengths-based framework, Evette supports individuals in working toward their personal goals and ensures each client feels heard, understood, and validated.
Evette particularly enjoys working with neurodivergent individuals of all ages and is passionate about supporting people in developing deeper self-understanding through compassion and curiosity. She has a strong interest in working with individuals who receive a diagnosis later in life and recognises how validating, emotional, and complex this experience can be. Using a neuro-affirming approach, Evette celebrates individual differences and supports clients in making sense of past experiences through a kind, strengths-focused lens. She values creating space for insight, relief, and self-acceptance, and finds it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they gain clarity, language, and confidence in who they are.
Evette has experience across private, community, and school settings. She is skilled in a range of psychological assessments and diagnoses, including social-emotional, cognitive, and academic assessments, and has a particular interest in providing neuro-affirming assessments across the lifespan. Evette has extensive experience in counselling, psychological assessment, and intervention across a range of presentations and age groups, including non-verbal clients, individuals with complex needs, and children and families who have experienced complex trauma. She values client-led therapy and often incorporates clients’ interests into her work, tailoring her approach to meet each individual’s needs. Evette also has experience implementing individualised support plans, facilitating group programs, and delivering play-based interventions with young children.
Outside of work, Evette enjoys spending time with her friends, playing with her two dogs, Otis and Obi, and her two cats, Binky and Bonky. She loves playing the Nintendo Switch and tabletop games, getting lost in a good book, and spending time outdoors - especially when surrounded by the ocean or among the trees.
